Background
Welcome to my website, dedicated to my 'addiction' of homebrewing. I've been brewing for several years now and as is the case with most homebrewers, I started the hobby using a small store bought kit that produced something that was "drinkable" but not great by any means. Over the next year, I graduated from the store bought kit to a larger stove top version and started doing 'extract brewing'. The beer gradually got better and I began to enjoy it more, but I still wasn't completely impressed with the end result. Soon there after, I moved up to 'all grain brewing' and the addiction ensued...
Why not just buy your own beer?
This question always seems to come up when I tell someone that I'm a homebrewer and no matter how I answer, the question always seems to linger when discussing aspects of homebrewing. The simple answer is 'because I like good beer and like trying new things'. When I started this hobby I thought that making beer comparable to what was sold in stores was probably a long shot. And in the beginning I thought that this was probably the case because the first few beers that I made were subpar (if that). However over time and after some research, I found out that I could actually make good (scratch that, great) beer on my own and decided that nothing was stopping me. Now, I'm not saying that I don't buy beer anymore, I do (on a regular basis) but I would have to say that my tastes have changed over the years and I am willing to try anything as compared to your everyday lagers and light ales that are mass produced.
What's on my website?
Located on the top of this page is a navigation bar that includes links to different aspects of my homebrewing addiction (i.e., pictures of equipment, the construction of my bar, favorite recipes, and other helpful homebrewing links). Because there are A LOT of websites that describe 'how to brew beer' I've decided that the goal of this website should focus less on the process of brewing and more on providing viewers a glimpse of my own homebrewing experience, and hopefully by doing so more people will be encouraged to start brewing for themselves.
